Events ManagerABOUT SEATTLE ACADEMY: Seattle Academy is a dynamic community that challenges students to question, imagine, and create in order to contribute boldly to a changing world. This mission comes alive in our urban school setting in the heart of Capitol Hill, where we serve 1,256 students in grades 6 - 12 in a vibrant independent school environment.ABOUT THE ROLE: We are looking for an energetic, flexible, and detail-oriented Events Manager to organize and oversee school events that will have a positive impact on our SAAS community.The primary responsibilities of the Events Manager are to ensure that events and meetings are successfully planned, implemented, and coordinated in collaboration with campus departments. The Events Manager will report to and work in partnership with the Director of Events on large-scale events while also independently managing all internal/external meetings and a portfolio of small-to-medium events (such as parent dinners, student assemblies, alumni reunions, athletic events, and student dances). Each event/meeting in the portfolio will be planned and executed by the Events Manager from start to finish.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of integrity, flexibility, collaboration, and reliability in the workplace, as well as experience planning and producing events. Our ideal candidate is creative, a quick study, a strong communicator, a motivated self-starter, and a team player.Bonus if you can bring relevant additional skills beyond event planning and management to this role and to our team. As is typical in schools and nonprofit organizations, we all wear many hats! Any combination of content creation, video editing, graphic design, photography, storytelling, copy editing, digital marketing, and/or social media savvy will be a great asset to our team and will help you be successful in this role.This position is a salaried exempt position with a salary range of $78,000 to $85,000, depending on relative experience, and is based on working a twelve-month schedule.This is a great opportunity for an early-career event planner to gain valuable skills and work in collaboration with a high-performing (and fun!) marketing and communications team. This position will start as soon as the right candidate is available.Job RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with campus partners, including facilities, tech, catering, and operations, to ensure that all event tasks are properly organized and executed for each event/meeting.
  • Assist in keeping all details of the master calendar organized and accurate as day-to-day changes occur and new events are added on a continuous basis.
  • Occasionally work with external vendors to scout and reserve event space or order equipment rentals for on-campus events.
  • Identify and secure appropriate volunteers for events by creating staffing plans, managing staffing communications, writing role descriptions, and serving as the point of contact for faculty/staff volunteers at key events.
  • Assist in managing the Run of Show logistics and manage performers at events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to prepare and produce event-related materials, including printed and digital materials such as graphics, web pages, social media posts, and emails, and ensure their timely distribution.
  • Assess and suggest innovative ways to enhance the event planning and implementation process.
  • Support post-event debriefings to evaluate what elements were successful and what problems were encountered, incorporating that information into the planning and execution of subsequent events.
  • Other duties as assigned.Requirements for the Position:The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of integrity, flexibility, collaboration, and transparency in the workplace.
    • Bachelor's degree and at least three years of special event experience.
    • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading, and speaking.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Able to coordinate across functions and collaborate to reach shared goals.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments simultaneously.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and Google Drive environment.
